FreightArranger® provides an opportunity for road hauliers to receive haulage bookings.
This may surprise you given that FreightArranger®’s intention is to make modal shift to rail easier.
Nonetheless, road hauliers who participate in FreightArranger® will receive haulage orders to move containers from origins to rail terminals and from rail terminals to final destinations. These transits tend to be more profitable than long-haul journeys, and reduce “nights away” for drivers.
There will also be opportunities for door-to-door haulage, which will occur for example when the all road solution is cheaper than rail.
Road hauliers who join FreightArranger® will also benefit from access to FreightArranger®’s container tracker, which will help them optimise the timing of collections at rail freight terminals, thereby increasing overall profitability.
To participate, all you need is to have:
- A fleet of skeletal trailers.
- An O licence.
- RHA or FTA membership.
